StocExpo, Europe’s leading exhibition for the tank terminal industry, is being held from 22 to 24 March 2011. On Stand 77, Implico will be focusing on integration, data communication and administration. This year, the international consulting and software company has chosen to highlight the integration of EMCS processes in OpenTAS, its terminal administration and automation system. Another key theme is data transmission via IFLEXX, the new XML-based data exchange standard in the petroleum industry.
The Excise Movement and Control System (EMCS) for monitoring the cross-border movement of excisable goods within the EU has been operational since the beginning of the year. Implico has integrated in OpenTAS all of the electronic customs handling functions required by this system. These can therefore run automatically in the background as part of the loading and shipping processes of a tank terminal or refinery. Compared with web-based EMCS solutions, this integrated, end-to-end application not only minimizes error rates; it also enables tank terminals to operate round-the-clock and ensures that data reaches customs much more quickly.
As well as demonstrating the EMCS integration in OpenTAS at StocExpo, Implico will be showing its latest solutions for automating loading. They are applicable to all modes of transport: tank trucks, railroad tank cars, ships and pipelines. Other new Implico products featuring at StocExpo are the innovative planning and dispatching capabilities of OpenTAS and enhancements to TTS700, the easy to use, out-of-the-box loading solution for FMC flowmeters (Accuload and Microload) which is based on OpenTAS.
IFLEXX will be featured at the Implico stand as well. This new XML data exchange format for the petroleum industry enables loading data to be transferred in two directions: to the computer on board the tank truck and to the accounting systems (ERP systems) of the respective mineral oil company. Implico played a key role in the development of IFLEXX, and for more than two years it has coordinated the solution’s further development for the IFLEXX Community comprising leading German mineral oil companies and tank storage providers. The new, international data transmission format is scheduled to replace several outdated national standards, first in Germany and later in other European countries. In Germany, IFLEXX is already operational at 19 locations, with 65 more sites to follow soon.
